Valentine is a Consultant Gynaecologist, Fertility Specialist & Reproductive Surgeon.
He has been treating couples with Fertility and reproductive problems since 1995 and has personally helped several hundred fulfill their dream of having a baby.
Amanda is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine & Surgery.
She qualified in 2003 and has worked in the field of gynaecology for the last 13 years. Amanda has undertaken specialist training in the field of fertility and is an accredited subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. She has a broad research portfolio with a particular interest in fertility surgery and the impact of obesity on reproductive health. She has published research articles and book chapters on these subjects. She is an organiser and trainer on the prestigious British Fertility Society Reproductive Surgery Masterclass and teaches on the University of Bristol MSc in Reproduction and Development. She is also an active member of the British Fertility Society and British Society for Gynaecology Endoscopy. Amanda prides herself in providing a personalised and holistic approach ensuring the highest standards of care for all her patients.
Alex is a Fertility Specialist, qualified in 2001 and has worked in the field of gynaecology since 2003. She also works at the Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM), Southmead Hospital. Her academic training has involved working as an Obstetric and Gynaecology Registrar, and a Research Fellow in medical education with the University of Bristol. She is also a fully qualified GP and has been specially trained in ultrasound scanning. Further qualifications include a diploma in medical education and family planning and sexual health.
She has always been complemented on her listening skills and compassionate nature towards patients.
She is a keen musician, enjoys singing with Bristol Choral Society and playing the violin. She also enjoys the outdoors and skiing.
I qualified in 1989 and obtained membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in 1997. I was awarded distinction in the fertility competencies and skills module from the Royal College. My academic training led to obtaining an MSc degree in Reproductive Medicine and being appointed as Honorary Teacher at the University of Bristol. I have been working as a specialist in the field of Infertility since 1999 and have extensive experience in fertility and all forms of assisted conception treatment (IUI, IVF, and ICSI). My special interests include ovarian stimulation, egg freezing and male infertility including performing surgical sperm retrieval.
My research projects in the field of infertility have led to several publications and presentations at national and international meetings.
I am empathetic and strive to deliver a personalized and compassionate service to patients. In my spare time I like to listen to classical music, play tennis and enjoy hiking and travelling
Paul is the Scientific Director for Fertility Bristol as well as Consultant Embryologist/ Andrologist.
He is a Nationally recognised expert in the field of Embryology and has nearly 25 years on direct hands-on experience in IVF labs and, in addition to being part of the Fertility Bristol team, is also the Head of Embryology & Andrology at the Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM). He previously led the Laboratory team as Laboratory Director and Person Responsible at the University of Bristol’s Centre for Reproductive Medicine. Paul has extensive leadership experience in the delivery of clinical Embryology & Andrology services, including laboratory design, quality management to international standards and is actively involved in the formal training of new Scientists entering the Reproductive Medicine field.
Paul’s research interests include the optimisation of embryo culture, the timing of embryo replacement and embryo cryopreservation processes. His objective is to ensure that the very highest possible success rates are obtained for patients.
Carrie is a Gynaecology & Fertility Advanced Nurse Practitioner who also works at the Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM), Southmead Hospital. She has been working in this field since 1992. As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Carrie has attained further qualifications including a diploma in Gynaecology, Nurse prescribing & has undertaken an Masters of Science Degree in Advanced Practice. Carrie is has also been specially trained in ultra sound scanning and the investigation process for new fertility patients.She is a member of the British Fertility Society (BFS) & the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) forums for Fertility & Gynaecology. Carrie enjoys being part of a dedicated team and is personally committed to ensuring that patients are fully informed and supported through their fertility journey.
Gemma is a Fertility Nurse Specialist who also works at the Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM), Southmead Hospital. She has been working in this field for several years.
Katharine is an advanced nurse practitioner with over 18 years clinical experience in women’s health. Following a degree in Nursing Studies at King’s College London, she completed a Masters in Clinical Ultrasound at London South Bank University. She is a qualified Hysteroscopist and has an Independent Prescribing qualification. She also work in the NHS assessing and treating women with a wide range of women’s health issues. She has specialist interest in diagnostics, early pregnancy, recurrent miscarriage and infertility. Katharine is currently a committee member for the British Society of Gynaecological imaging and a member of the British Fertility Society.
Chantelle is the Practice Manager for Fertility Bristol. Chantelle Woodard and her team are responsible for coordinating all secretarial and administrative tasks. They are dedicated to providing an excellent, friendly service to every patient and they very much look forward to being of assistance to you.
Beata is the senior administrator and fertility treatment (IVF, ICSI, Donor egg and sperm) coordinator at Fertility Bristol. She has many years experience in the field of fertility and also work within the administration team at the Bristol centre for reproductive medicine (BCRM).
Isobel is an administrative assistant at Fertility Bristol. She studied Classics at university and then pursued a career in sales and marketing in the telecommunications and publishing industries. With over 20 years experience in client relationships she has most recently worked as a key administrator in a variety of settings including higher education at the University of Bristol, commercial interior design and the NHS.
