BCRM launches free women's health and fertility initiative for local businesses.

Business leaders across Bristol and the South West are being urged to foster more supportive workplaces as BCRM (Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine) launches a free fertility advice initiative tailored for local employers. 

With around one in six couples needing medical assistance to start a family, fertility challenges directly affect a large portion of the region's workforce. To help businesses support their staff through these often unspoken challenges, BCRM is offering free, interactive pop-up advice sessions hosted directly at local workplaces. 

Bristol is a city that has a growing number of forward thinking businesses that offer workplace fertility packages and private healthcare add-ons, however, many employers struggle with how to open the conversation or support employees who feel unable to discuss their struggles at work. BCRM’s pop-up sessions are designed to bridge this gap, offering a practical, zero cost starting point for HR teams looking to enhance their existing benefits framework, whilst giving their staff expert clinical advice without putting any financial burden on the business or the employee.

The roadshows will be led by BCRM’s Dr Guy Morris, consultant gynaecologist and subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery, and they aim to cover the realities of fertility and proactive options like egg freezing, whilst also encouraging open conversations about fertility in general. 

Dr Morris said: "Over 3% of all UK births now result from fertility treatment – that’s roughly one child in every classroom. Infertility is a reality in every mid-to-large workforce, yet it remains an under-represented topic in corporate wellbeing programmes. Supporting employees through family building isn’t just compassionate; it’s a critical strategy for retaining top talent." 

"Between 2022 and 2024, the number of patients choosing to freeze their eggs jumped by 44%, making egg freezing one of the fastest-growing options in the UK. Our goal is to offer a relaxed, safe space where employees can 'ask the experts' and receive honest, evidence based answers on women’s health, male fertility factors, and modern treatment pathways." 

These sessions will take place on Wednesday afternoons (between 1:00PM and 5:00PM) and can be booked in advance by emailing admin@bcrm.clinic.
