Dr Matt Noble
MBChB BSc (MedSci) Hons MRCOG MD

Consultant gynaecologist and subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery

Mr Matt Noble is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at BCRM and North Bristol NHS Trust. He completed his medical degree at the University of Edinburgh and undertook specialty and subspecialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and reproductive medicine and surgery in Bristol, Oxford, and Liverpool.

Matt has extensive experience in fertility and has been privileged, throughout his career, to support individuals and couples on their fertility journeys. He completed a three-year clinical research fellowship at The Institute of Reproductive Sciences (Oxford Fertility), where he wrote his doctoral thesis on frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET). His research has focused on various approaches to endometrial preparation for FET, including leading a University of Oxford randomised controlled trial. His work has been widely published, and he has presented his findings at national and international conferences, including the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). Notably, during his time in Oxford, Matt led protocol changes for natural cycle FET, which resulted in a doubling of the odds of live birth for patients undergoing this treatment.

After his fellowship in Oxford, Matt completed the two-year RCOG Subspecialty Training programme in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Liverpool Women’s Hospital—one of Europe’s busiest gynaecology, fertility and IVF centres.

Matt is an active member of the British Fertility Society and has served on its Executive Committee, representing his peers. He teaches annually on the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) Subfertility and Assisted Conception Course, as well as on the University of Bristol’s MSc in Reproductive Medicine.

At North Bristol NHS Trust, Matt is Clinical Lead for the Early Pregnancy Clinic, supporting individuals and couples through miscarriage, and is RCOG College Tutor, overseeing the delivery of specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Matt is also a British Menopause Society-accredited menopause specialist, and his research in this field has been presented nationally.

Matt lives in Bristol with his family and is deeply engaged in the local community. He is known for his compassionate, patient-centred approach, consistently communicating with clarity and empathy. Matt remains committed to providing personalised care that places the needs and experiences of his patients at the heart of his clinical practice.
