Fertility Issues Awareness Evening to be held in Bath
FERTILITY ISSUES AWARENESS EVENING TO BE HELD IN BATH
Bath residents considering fertility treatment have been invited to attend a free open evening at Sulis Hospital in Peasedown St John for an ‘Expert Insights’ evening on Tuesday 25 November, where the focus will be on helping audience members understand the potential solutions available if they are struggling to conceive.
Attendees will have the chance to meet three leading specialists from Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM), hear from them about possible solutions to common problems, treatments available and their own holistic approach, and take part in an interactive question and answer session. BCRM’s satellite clinic in Bath is based at Sulis Hospital.
The speakers will provide updates on the latest advancements in fertility assessment, investigation and treatment. After the presentations, they will be available to answer guests’ confidential questions in a private mini consultation.
There is no charge to attend, but places are limited and pre-booking by phone is essential on 01761 422288 or online here.
Speakers at the ‘Expert Insights’ evening will be Sarah Armstrong, consultant lead at BCRM’s clinic in Bath, BCRM’s medical director Amanda Jefferys, and fellow consultant Guy Morris.
All three are subspecialists in reproductive medicine and surgery - which means they have completed advanced training in the medical and surgical management of fertility, reproductive endocrinology and related conditions, and have a deep understanding of hormonal function in reproduction which enables them to manage complex fertility issues for individuals and couples.
For attendees who choose to have a follow-up appointment this will be offered locally at BCRM’s clinic in the Sulis Hospital, where consultant Sarah Armstrong will undertake a comprehensive review of patients’ individual circumstances, perform any ultrasound scans needed, review test results and explain treatment options.
Any necessary surgical procedures, such as egg retrieval or embryo transfer, would be carried out at BCRM’s state-of-the-art clinic at Aztec West in north Bristol.
Sarah Armstrong said: “For most of the one in six couples who have difficulty conceiving, their problem is not actually infertility but sub-fertility, which means they do in fact have the ability to conceive and any lack of success so far might be remedied with appropriate advice or treatment.
“Before deciding on which fertility clinic to use, we feel it is really important to meet and interact with the consultant who would be looking after you, so we hope would-be parents in Bath will make the most of this opportunity to come and meet us on November 25th.”
The ‘Expert Insights’ presentations will cover aspects of female and male fertility and subfertility; how BCRM can help with advice, investigation and treatment; an explanation of the patient journey; IVF, ICSI and IUI treatments; treatment success rates; an introduction to donor services; counselling and treatment support services; and how to optimise personal fertility.
The event will run from 6.30 to 8.30pm on Tuesday 25th November 2025 at Sulis Hospital, Foxcote Avenue, Peasedown St John, Bath, BA2 8SQ. Pre-booking is essential. Call 01761 422288 for more information. Refreshments will be available.
