PRIDE OPEN EVENING: HAVING A BABY WITH DONOR SPERM
PRIDE OPEN EVENING: HAVING A BABY WITH DONOR SPERM
Following on from Pride Month, would-be same-sex who will require donor sperm to conceive a baby can learn more about the process pathways to parenthood at a free open evening on Wednesday, 3 July, at the Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM) at Aztec West.
Leading fertility consultants will specifically address becoming pregnant via sperm donation which is likely to be of special interest to female same-sex couples and would-be solo mums.
The event will start with a fertility education presentation by Dr Amanda Jefferys, BCRM Medical Director, to enable attendees to make informed progress toward building their family with specialist guidance, including an explanation of the options open to women or couples experiencing difficulties in trying for a baby.
After the opening presentation, attendees will be offered a private one-to-one mini consultation to discuss their situation face-to-face with an expert in the field, specifically focusing on sperm donation.
Guests will be offered a tour of the clinic, an introduction to members of the laboratory team and the chance to view the state-of-the-art facility where specialist IVF, ICSI and IUI treatments take place.
Information is also available about other services offered by BCRM including donor egg treatment, egg-freezing, counselling and treatment support services, and visitors will come away with a realistic overview of how the team can help and – where relevant - how much fertility services cost.
Feedback from previous attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.
Staff at the clinic are involved in innovative research and BCRM has one of the best success rates with IVF and other fertility treatments in the UK with a success rate of 55.1% vs 34.2% national average.
To register for the open evening, contact BCRM on 0117 259 1159 or e-mail contact@bcrm.clinic to reserve a place.
